I’m going to talk about myself for a minute…

Everyone needs a hype girl on their wedding day, someone to dance with you on the dance floor (although I always seem to get adopted by mums on the dace floor which I love). Someone to reassure you when you’ve got some last minute nerves. Someone to buy you a tequila rose shot before your speech!

I want you to feel like I’m an old friend, someone you can relax around and be yourselves. So the best way to achieve that is to tell you some bits about myself and how I got here.

I have 10 years of experience in the wedding industry, it’s safe to say I’ve photographed every weather, tonnes of different venues with different lighting, and challenges. Weddings with just the couple…to weddings with 200+ guests. I’ve seen it all!

My style is based on prompted photography, not traditional posed photography.

No holding cheesy smiles for 10 minutes. Prompts bring unique reactions between couples from romance to laughter, allowing me to capture real emotions, rather than a smile that isn’t totally genuine. I know you’ll be happy and smiling on your wedding day, but there’s a huge difference to having a natural smile on your face rather than one “just for the camera”. I can guarantee you’ll be belly laughing during your couples portrait session. Although I have a more relaxed approach to weddings, I study my backdrops thoroughly and ensure things are perfectly placed particularly during couple portraits and group shots! It’s vital that this part of the day is somewhat controlled and finding the right light and backdrop is essential. There is typically a traditional element to group shots unless you decide you don’t really want to do them then that’s entirely up to you!

What makes me different from other photographers, is that I’m not afraid to interact with your guests. I don’t stand 50 feet away with a long lens looking like a weirdo in the corner not talking to people… I want your guests to feel comfortable with me, and I’ve found that the only way to truly have a group of people you’ve never met before to be comfortable around you…is to introduce yourself and be in the moment WITH them. I want people to look back on their wedding gallery and feel like they’re stood right there, not looking in from the outside.

I more than most, understand that not everyone likes their picture taken, however nearly every couple I’ve ever worked with has said they’re camera shy and guess what…They absolutely smash it on the day, and even relax enough to throw in some romantic poses like a dip kiss or a dress twirl. However I’ll never put you in a position that you feel awkward in! We chat about all of these things leading up to the wedding and in your wedding questionnaire.

It’s all about being comfortable, getting on with your photographer, and having that guidance to relax and be yourselves.

More about my style

A Little more about who you’re booking!

Growing up I was obsessed wildlife and wanted to be a National Geographic filmmaker would you believe…My love of wildlife, exploring and photography combined has taken me all over the world, from The Amazon, deserts, jungles in Thailand, to the northern lights in Iceland and Norway. I love it all. Travel is a huge part of my life and the only continent I’m left to visit is Antarctica! Winter is usually my only time to escape the crazy season of weddings and you’ll often see me winding down in January, ready to hop on a plane to somewhere warm.

It’s odd writing about yourself to a bunch of strangers to try and sell your personality! However, I’m just a bubbly, happy person that loves a good party and I’m terrible at dancing. I’m so grateful to have the job I do, and it’s such a huge part of my life and my personality it’s difficult for me to just not write about weddings and taking my camera everywhere I go!

I love animals, exploring new places, rewatching old episodes of The Simpsons, putting on 2 hour 90’s playlists to sing in my car obnoxiously loudly, buying too many blankets and candles from TX Max and I kill every single plant I own, apart from my Monstera that I am trying really hard not to kill.

I’m a professional hype girl, and I’ve made some of the most fantastic long term friends doing this job. It’s not just a job to me, it’s capturing the most special day of a couples life and being able to make them feel comfortable and relaxed.

PS: I will also bring snacks.

3 Reasons why I love Wedding Photography

My EPIC couples!

From the moment you book with me, that’s it…I’m your friend. I want to hear how you met, what your fave hobbies are, your fave foods and what you want your wedding day to be.

It’s an amazing feeling transforming a couples mind set from being camera shy, to loving that experience of being in front of a camera, and truly relaxing and enjoying themselves.

Having creative freedom

I will do whatever it takes to get the shot.

Having creative freedom on the day means I never get bored. I’m always thinking of new ideas, spotting a beautiful patch of light and getting excited over my brain seeing the final product before I’ve even shot it, running over and grabbing you both for a quick 5 minutes if the sun has that golden glow in the evening. Things like this keep photographers on their toes, and I’m always looking for that perfect opportunity. There’s always some photography cogs spinning in my brain no matter where I am.

Appreciating every detail…

I get to capture the most important day for you, and that feeling never changes. It’s truly wonderful. We often take things for granted, even though I see countless weddings per year, I never forget that these moments mean the world to you. Seeing granddad in a suit for the first time in years…A first look with someone special to you… It’s not every day we put on our finest clothes and gather together. The pandemic showed us that we should really cherish every moment, and being able to see our loved ones and friends. It’s brought a whole new depth to what I do and family memories are a vital part of a wedding, not just the couple portraits!

Kind words…
